Simultaneous translation into Russian and French will be provided during all plenary sessions, congress sessions and keynote lectures.

Young Scientists
A Young Scientist session will provide a special platform for presentations by young scientists (below 33 years of age). Each presenter in this session will compete for the ESC Young Scientist Prize.       

Awards
Besides the ESC Best Poster, the ESC Best Public Poster and ESC Young Scientists Awards, the ESC Medal will be awarded for the second time to honour a member for his/her outstanding scientific work and/or organizing activity performed in accordance with the aims of the Society.

Training and education
The programme will ensure the educational aims of the congress through specific sessions and tools. Approval of the Congress programme for continuing medical education (CME) is anticipated.

Workshops and fora
Fora will be organized as interactive sessions, introduced by two experts in the field and followed by an in depth discussion with the audience. A workshop will teach participants how to search for information, carry out research and write a paper.

Society sessions
Some slots are dedicated to other Societies with aims similar to the ESC.

Expert meetings
Informal, round-table discussions during lunch with a maximum of 15 participants.

Sessions of ESC Expert Groups
The newly established Expert Groups will organize their own sessions for the first time and will focus on the highlights in their area of expertise.

High standard scientific programme
The Scientific Committee has endeavoured to put together a high standard, well-balanced scientific programme, offering actual topics and excellent speakers. To make the programme even more attractive, a considerable proportion will be interactive with the audience.
